St Lucia Bareboat Yachts

St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Grenada are the three gateways to the Grenadines. St. Lucia is a lot easier to get to by air so many of our clients choose to fly into Castries, and start their Grenadines charter from here.

The Moorings and many other fine companies have bases here or can deliver your bareboat to St. Lucia. It’s about a days sail from St. Lucia to St. Vincent, so you would lose two days of a Grenadines charter, one on the outbound and one on the inbound if you are returning the yacht to the same location.

Nevertheless it’s not a bad sail, and the island of St. Lucia itself is absolutely gorgeous and many bare boaters prefer to spend the first night in an anchorage in the South of the island rather that try to reach St. Vincent. Laborie Bay, Balenbouche and Vieux Fort are OK places to stop off.

It’s a favorite pick up location for fully crewed charters too, St. Lucia is one of the most spectacular islands in the Caribbean.
