Balearic Bareboat Yachts
The Balearic Islands of Spain include the classic bareboating destinations of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. There are a few good bareboat operating companies in the islands but bareboating from this location is a stand-alone adventure i.e. you must stay within the archipelago. It’s way too far to sail to mainland Spain (Barcelona, for example) from here and way too far to go the other way to the French Riviera. That is, unless you rent a boat for a few weeks at a time.
Having said that, the Balearics are a fun and very fashionable destination. You don’t really need to go anywhere else because there’s something for everyone here, whether it be the high-life of Palma de Mallorca or the wilder less populated and more adventurous places like Formentera.
