Note: many of the bareboat operating bases are located in Macinaggio on the NE point of Corsica. This provides two opportunities: a long haul about 80 miles to the French Riviera with sometimes tricky seas OR (much nicer) a nice leisurely sail Eastwards towards the islands of Capriaia, on to Elba (of Napoleonic fame), then Pianosa and Montecristo.  You can even reach the Italian mainland if you tale a two weeker.
