St. Martin Bareboat Itineraries

 

DAY 1

Commence your charter in the early afternoon.  We suggest you sail down the Western  shore of St. Martin to Grand Case Bay, where there are ideal anchorages off a beautiful beach.  This attractive fishing village has a large selection of restaurants.Next, we suggest you sail a further hour down the coast to Marigot (the capital of the French side), where there is an incredible array of tempting food and wine.  A very large supermarket with American brands has opened two miles south on the road leading out of Marigot near the Dutch boarder. 
DAY 2 Set sail this morning for a three hour sail to Anguilla where you must clear customs in Road Bay and obtain a cruising permit.  This peaceful island boasts glorious miles of turquoise bays and creamy white beaches.  There are a number of good restaurants available and most types of provisioning are available, including ice.A well-organized dive shop is situated in Sandy Ground Village in Road Bay.

 

DAY 3 An easy two hour sail this morning to Prickly Pear Cay, which is a set of jewel-like reefs that provide some of the most spectacular snorkeling and diving in theCaribbean.  Spend some of the day at anchor near Prickly Pear East and then dinghy around to the north shore of Prickly Pear East for outstanding snorkeling.Early this afternoon set sail for the two hour crossing back toAnguillaand anchor in the protectedCrocusBay.  There is one good restaurant nearby.

 

DAY 4 Depart Crocus Bay in the morning for a five-hour sail back to St. Martin and on to Orient Bay for one of the loveliest anchorages on the island.  Anchor in the lee of Ile Pinel for a classic tropical paradise.
DAY 5 A two-hour sail this morning towards St. Barthelemy (St Barth) will have you at Ile Fourche, which makes an ideal stop for lunch.  Then continue to St. Barths where you will anchor off Fort Oscar and clear customs.  St. Barths has an outstanding array of restaurants and French duty-free European shopping.
DAY 6 We suggest a free day in Gustavia to enjoy this special island and its St. Tropez flavor.  A fully equipped dive shop is available.
DAY 7 Set sail this morning for Philipsburg, the capital of St. Maarten on the Dutch side.  Anchor in Great Bay and take advantage of fabulous duty-free shopping in the quaint village on Front Street.If this anchorage is not calm, then continue on to Simpson Bay.  There are many restaurants and shops for provisions in this area.
DAY 8 Early this morning your final two hour sail back up the western shore of St. Martinwhere your one week charter terminates in the morning.
